Spartanburg United Soccer Academy would like to congratulate our 2012 Boys Elite team on qualifying for the Disney Showcase, one of the most prestigious and competitive youth tournaments in the country. This opportunity comes after a strong league campaign, where the group finished second in league play and consistently demonstrated their quality, resilience, and ability to compete at a high level. The Disney Showcase provides a platform to compete against top teams from across the nation, offering a true test of performance in a highly competitive environment. Qualification for this event is a reflection of the players’ commitment, the standard they have set, and the work being done within our program. We are proud of this group and everything they have accomplished so far. We wish the team the best of luck as they travel to compete and represent Spartanburg United on a national stage.
Spartanburg United Soccer Academy is proud to celebrate a historic milestone as both our U15 and U17 boys teams were crowned Mid-Atlantic Champions in our first season competing in the United Premier Soccer League. In our inaugural year, both teams embraced the challenge of competing at a high level and set the standard for what Spartanburg United represents. Throughout the season, the players demonstrated commitment, resilience, and a relentless drive to improve, all while competing against top opposition across the region. This achievement is a reflection of the work being done daily within our Academy. From the training environment to player development, our focus remains on preparing players for the next level while building a clear pathway within our club. Congratulations to Coach Morris Kamara and the U17 team, and Coach Joshua Trejo and the U15 team, for leading their groups to an outstanding and historic achievement. To see both teams reach the top in our first year is a testament to the players, coaches, and families who continue to believe in and support the process. This is only the beginning.
Spartanburg United Soccer Academy wrapped up the fall season with a fun and memorable end of season event, bringing players, coaches, and families together to celebrate the progress made throughout the year. The day was filled with small sided games, team competitions, and plenty of energy across all age groups. It was a great opportunity for players to enjoy the game in a relaxed environment while still showcasing the skills and confidence they have built over the course of the season. Throughout the fall, our Academy players committed to consistent training, embraced new challenges, and continued to grow across all areas of the game. From technical development to decision making and game awareness, the improvement has been clear across every age group. Events like this are an important part of what we do. They allow players to connect, compete, and most importantly enjoy the game alongside their teammates. Thank you to our coaches and families for their continued support and commitment throughout the season. We look forward to building on this progress as we head into the winter and spring phases.
